Attorney Kelly S. Kuglitsch of O’Neil Cannon will present an overview of employee benefits legal developments as we near the end of 2025 and look ahead to 2026.  Join us to hear about recent changes and challenges for employee sponsors of group health plans and retirement plans.  The discussion of recent emerging trends, controversies, and suggested takeaways will include:
  •  Practical considerations after the One Big Beautiful Bill Act
  •  MPHAEA current status and compliance strategies
  •  Long Term Disability litigation
  •  Health plan and retirement plan litigation and class action insights
  •  Cunningham vs. Cornell and other Supreme Court benefits cases

Kelly Kuglitsch is an attorney with the O’Neil Cannon firm, and practices exclusively ERISA, Benefits and Compensation Law.  She regularly assists employers, plan administrators, plan service providers, and other attorneys with a variety of transactional and compliance-related employee benefits issues.  Working collaboratively with the Employment, Corporate and Litigation Practice Groups at her firm, she also oversees transition matters relevant to mergers and acquisitions and serves as a subject-matter expert.
​
She has spoken on the topic of executive compensation for both the State Bar of Wisconsin Taxation Section and the ABA Taxation Section S-Corporation Subcommittee.  Her article “Spotting Issues Under Section 409A:  Perspective and Practice Tips” appeared, in 2018, in Corporate Taxation, Vol. 45, No. 1, a Thomson Reuters publication.  Kelly is a former officer of the Taxation Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Kelly earned her J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law, and her M.A. from The George Washington University.
