The Milwaukee chapter invites you to virtually attend "Closing Health Equity Gaps with a Multi-Dimensional Approach to Musculoskeletal Care" on September 20, 2022.
Exacerbated in part due to COVID-19, chronic musculoskeletal (MSK) pain is on the rise across the country. Diagnosis and treatment for these conditions does not always get to the root cause of patients’ chronic pain. For people with chronic back pain, often no clear physical cause of the pain can be identified. In addition, the pandemic exposed startling health inequities that have brought this issue to the forefront for employer benefit leaders. Aims/Takeaways:
Dr. Raymond Hwang is Medical Director at Hinge Health. In addition to his full time role at Hinge Health, Dr. Hwang is a spine surgeon and Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine, a reviewer for The Spine Journal and serves on the Institutional Review Board and Musculoskeletal Steering Committee at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts. He has over 12 years of clinical experience as a spine surgeon and 8 years of experience as an advisor to digital health and med-tech companies. Dr. Hwang earned two engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his MD from Harvard Medical School, underwent residency training at the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Surgery Residency Program, and completed his fellowship in Spine Surgery at New England Baptist Hospital.
