Recent movements within the health and wellness industries have begun to focus on food as medicine and how prevention of diet-related diseases are less expensive than their treatments.
Join us for this in-person panel presentation, which will focus on a new, Milwaukee-based social enterprise that is on a mission to bring equitable access to healthy lifestyles through the power of food, health coaching and education. In addition, while the focus will be on the workplace component of their program, you’ll learn how the Food Benefit Company is also focused on driving positive change within our communities through its non-profit organization, Food for Health. You’ll hear not only from the organization itself, but from a large, Milwaukee-based employer whose employees experienced a lifestyle transformation through their offering. The data will show how specific biomarkers, such as high blood pressure, BMI and cholesterol, were positively impacted during a pilot program. Takeaways: 1) An understanding of the importance of healthy eating in the workplace; 2) Navigating the challenges that both employers and employees face when trying to make a lifestyle change to healthier eating and living; 3) Why education and coaching are essential to sustaining this lifestyle change; 4) Examples of how participants in a pilot program benefitted from the experience, from the Employer’s perspective.
